CO2 Laser Revascularization

Standard treatments for coronary artery disease and angina include coronary artery bypass grafting, angioplasty and drug therapy. However, if your angina is related to diffusely diseased coronary arteries and arteries that are not be amenable to standard bypass surgery or angioplasty, there is a new procedure available to treat you. CO2 laser revascularization (TMR) creates new channels or conduits in the heart muscle. In addition, it also encourages the growth of small new vessels in the heart muscle by a means called angiogenesis. TMR has been shown to significantly decrease angina in patients with diffusely diseased or small coronary arteries and has also been shown to increase survival.
